Meet Sid

I have a new member in my family.
Sid came to me one dark moon lit night, as I walked among the cold stones in our local graveyard.
His grave no longer suited him, his stone had been broken.  He needed a new place to stay.  We struck a deal.
He would be welcome at my place.  In exchange for rent, he would sit for me in collodion wet plate projects I have planned.
When I told him about future collodion projects, he seemed quite comfortable with the idea of wet plate.
He asked why we were still using collodion.
I told him, "It's a bastardly thing we do, and you'll come to love it".
Apparently, these up coming projects are not to be his first time in front of a wet plate camera.
Haaa, He was confused when I did these test shots of him with my Hasselblad.  He was quite taken with the new technology.
Please do use the link to see the full images of Sid.  I look forward to working with him.  Enjoy!

Green Peppers And A Persian PLate

My latest still life offerings shot 13 August are again organic matter from our local farm.  It's always a joy to find unusual objects and these peppers qualify.
Unique shape and form from nature.  They represent themselves with no input from me other than laying them on a Persian brass plate.
The plate is also represented for itself and is quite beautiful.  Found years ago in a small shop. it's been with us for a long time.
Enjoy, and as always click on the title link to go to the main gallery.

Peppers In Form

We visit our local farms often.
I came across these peppers and immediately noticed their uniqueness in form and shape.
Here they lay in a natural position which dictated their arrangement.
Interpret them as you see them.
These are the first in an ongoing series I hope to continue.

Sunset On The Farm

My latest gallery set is from a June sunset shoot at a local farm here in NJ.
The sequence shows the sun slowly setting.
I shot these with my Hasselblad in medium format Ilford Delta 100.
The film was developed in PMK Pyro developer and scanned.

You can see the whole set by clicking on the photo.

Bring Me Dead Flowers/Dried Roses

Over the years we have collected roses from various funerals of beloved family members.
I thought them beautiful and wanted to photograph them.
These are digital images.  I have also photographed them with my 4x5 camera.
I will present them at a later time.  Please click on the image to see the larger photo in the gallery.

45MPH Landscape

Shot this one out the car window while driving in Hopewell, NJ
Had my eye on this scene for quite some time and finally saw an opportunity.

Winter's Desolation

I took this from the side of the road.
I love the dry, desolate look of the landscape during the Winter months.
The trees in their bare beauty seem to invite us into their abyss.
